[TheForge] RE: Tarnished brass

Didn't need to anneal as I left it as-is and didn't try to forge a flare,
but that would work harden it. I drilled the primer pocket and tapped for
the forged handle/scrolled hook then welded a chain onto a ball bearing for
the clapper. I did anneal the bearing several times but does anyone actually
KNOW of a bearing exploding because of welding? Maybe it's like the machine
gun barrel cut in two with a sword or the plastic lighter exploding in a
weldor's pocket- we have heard of it but not actually seen it.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that you want to anneal the metal in 
a bell.  It will certainly alter the tonal characteristic, and I am 
fairly sure that it will dull it.
