Bruce,

I don't think any of the Credit Card "rewards" actually come as cash
these days.

The last "rewards" I got, was in the form a free magazine subsciption
which turned into a night mare. I had the devil of a time trying to get
it dis-continued. Just like that TV Commercial of the Energizer Bunny,, My
"free" subscription continued, and continued.. and kept auto billing my
credit card. I spent hours on hold trying to cancel the magazine.

Finally I got the Credit Card Company to put a "contested payment" on it.
They didn't do that easily, either.

I won't ever take those kind of free "rewards" again.

Another trick they do.. They'll give you a dollar amount, and then shift
it to some kind of gift certificate ... say at say.. a Red Lobster or
OutBack Stake House.

Which is really funny, because I live so far in the rural area... that
I'd have to drive 90 plus "one way" miles to get to those.
