She also told me the best method for pushing a wagon 
out of the mud. Push the wheels, not the wagon it's 
much better leverage. Makes me wonder how much more I 
would've picked up if I'd paid more attention.

Frosty

last month the water was pushing into the barn so I
tried to open up the diversion ditch i had
inadvertently filled last summer. In the process i got
the backhoe submerged in the mud and then myself to my
thigh. I laid down and pulled out horizontally. A
mechanic friend and i put wood and rocks under the
wheels lifted with the hydraulic feet but we just sunk
deeper and finally i admitted defeat and bought a
tarp.  We have waited for real frozen weather but the
water and mud still flow.  we are on a shallow  slope.
In august it should dry. i am afraid that i will snap
something from the tractor using it to pull. Pushing
wheels from above and guarantees wetter mud.
