[TheForge] Searching for an anvil and a kiln

Dan,
I was helping a friend pick up a used wood burning stove Saturday. After we
had it loaded I noticed an anvil sitting on the floor of the machine shed
where the stove had been. I asked the lady if she was interested in selling
it. She said that her husband never wanted to get rid of anything, so no. I
went over and looked at it anyway. It was a 140# or 150# Peter Wright but
had had some major work done on it, looked like the horn had come off and
was welded back on with an arc welder.
I know this doesn't help you, but just shows that the equipment is out there
waiting to be found and put back into service. If this had been a nicer
anvil I would have pushed a little harder for the sale, but why bother on a
junker. And it still may come around at a later date.
Ray Carpenter is a great guy, I got a lot of stuff from him when he was
active in BAM.
