[TheForge] Searching for an anvil and a kiln

Dan: DOn't neglect craigslist. I have bought and sold anvils and post
drills recently by answering want ads there. Not even running the ads
myself, just answering a couple.
Also farm auctions. At one time in this country, practically every farm had
a basic blacksmithing setup: it was as ordinary as woodworking or
mechanical repair. Fisher alone sold some 400,000 anvils over its lifetime,
and that's a professional grade product. Without a whole lot of pain and
effort, I have acquired two matched pairs of Fishers for the two shops I am
now maintaining.
If you really want a kiln, as opposed to forge, network the pottery sites
like you do blacksmithing. The stuff is definitely out there.
