I'll keep my fingers crossed for an onshore breeze. 
I've seen how fast a fire in the chaparral can move in 
a santa ana.

If you decide to fight it plan on backfires if you have 
to make a fast get away. Preferably you won't have to 
fight nor be tempted to. Maybe if you have enough water 
wet the house down and burn the brush within 50' of it. 
Then when it's cool, do it again another 50' out. 
Repeat till you have a fire break a couple hundred feet 
across. You'll probably be arrested for damaging the 
habitat of the dip winged dingle moth snorfler though.

I found a decent fire map site and will keep an eye on 
things. Like I can do anything but send good wishes 
your way. Still.
