Info is fuzzy...The Indians fire, freshly contained, is about 10+ miles
North and inland.
The Big Sur Fire, still uncontained and spreading, is about a dozen
miles up the coast, according to rumor. Official reports are dated and
have it farther.
That seems like a fair distance, but a stiff wind in the right direction
can easily put it here in a very short time.
There's not much but dry trees and dense chaparral on steep slopes
between here and there...no natural firebreaks.
Smoke is pretty thick today and constant ash fall this aft.
Sure makes for dramatic sunsets.
Been damaging the landscaping and tossing it on the flatbed....mentally
packing stuff up.
If it comes real slow and easy i might stay and fight it...but
otherwise, we are outa here for sure. What the hey, it's only 20 years
of work. Wondering why i was stupid enough to build out of wood?
Yassah...no buildings full of tools are worth BBQed people ...are they?
Our answer, i guess, is literally blowing in the wind.
Thanks for your concern and counting us amongst your friends.
I'll try to behave like an adult...pf
