Absolutely not.  The stuff under the grinder is iron oxides.  Thats why it 
sparks coming off the stone.  The stuff coming off the turned rotors and 
drums is realtively pure steel.  If its fine enough, and free of lubricants, 
its good for the iron content in EEW.  Another reason I dont use cutting 
residue it is that we usually lube the blade of our bandsaw when doing a lot 
of cutting.
