When I built my hammer I used a 6.5" round. I was able to find a piece of
plate about 3.5" thick from a press bed. Weighs 1500 pounds.Used that for
the hammer base.Used 85 pounds for the hammer.Been using it every day for
over 5 years and it works great. Air cylinder is 3.25".
