[TheForge] positive pressure room

Dan, I would set up your shop with a dust collection system. See here.
http://billpentz.com/woodworking/cyclone/Index.cfm And set up a filter in
the shop to collect all of the fine dust. Point of origin dust collection is
you best bet to remove as much of the nasties as possible. Down draft
tables found here. http://www.tri-mer.com/downdraft_grinding_tables.html .
Collection hoods and filters. Use respirators when grinding to keep the
rest out of your lungs. You can make most all of the equipment your self. A
furnace blower is easy to come by. Most furnaces are replaced because the
heat exchanger is cracked. They throw the entire furnace out. The blower
is a three speed device. Don't use a swamp cooler to pressurize the nroom.
It will pump too much moisture into the room. All of the dust will turn to
sludge and it will rust every thing.
Just some Ideas for you
Dan in Auburn

Subject: [TheForge] positive pressure room

Well I get to build a shop. It's going to be 24'X36' and I'm thinking of
making a "grind" room with a positive pressure to try to get the dust out.
My thoughts was to pipe a old swamp cooler in and vent it out from under the
grinder. Do I need to put a blower on the out? Any input to make this work.
Cheep.
Thanks
