Here are some helpful links I scared up:
http://www.duckworksmagazine.com/06/howto/dust/index.htm (woodworker)
http://www.c-air.co.uk/dustextraction.html (the *idea*, not the product)
http://www.cadcode.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6189&view=next&sid=7aa886d621a76a87539c8c371f99b9f4
(suggests 5-10 PSI for a small operators cabin)
http://www.diytools.co.uk/Product.aspx/Charnwood!W915 (good
explanation of spec for DIY)
http://www.whitemountdesign.com/WorkshopArticle.htm (more woodworking)
http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/wk_planning/article/0,2037,DIY_14427_2275266,00.html
(dust plumbing howto)
http://www.potters.org/subject12415.htm (ceramics applications)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Positive_pressure
Sorry, they're not all about rooms, but that got me thinking that, if
normal vacuum-type (localized) systems are not enough for your needs,
maybe you can mix the two, have some draw right at your tool, and the
rest of the pressure pulling around the room's perimeter or exit(s).
As for material, you may be able to find used billboard vinyl after
the signs get replaced, it is nice heavy vinyl, usually with an
interior weave.
