Regarding angle grinders, all this speak of variable speeds and the 
different control layouts reminded me of my ergonomic objections to 
available units.  Sometimes a paddle switch seems good, at others a 
trigger switch, especially if it enables variable speed.  I'm wondering 
why nobody has come up with a combination of the two (or has someone?).

I would like to see a grinder with dual configurations.  A switch would 
enable one or the other.  The paddle switch would be hooked into an SCR. 
  Set your speed, grab the paddle and go.  Flip the master switch and 
grab the variable speed trigger.  When not in use the trigger locks to 
serve as a finger rest.  Maybe this is too complicated... just another 
of my random thoughts.
