If you calculate with steel weighing 500 pounds per cubic foot and cast iron at 450 pounds per cubic foot, you'll be within ~2% of the actual weight.  Just calculate the volume of the pieces (LxWxH).

btw I bought some steel drops at Fazzio's a couple of weeks ago.  The price was $0.55/pound.

I glanced at their price book for new A-36 steel and it was all in the range of $0.53-$0.58/pound.
