Frosty,
Petrogen seems to be thinking they are the only game in town, to judge by
their outrageous pricing. oPetral is a Chinese outfit and StarPetrol is the
American importer who thinks to horn in on Petrogen's "fat pickings." The
interesting part of all this is that StarPetrol is busily paying the bill
for UL listing and all the rest of the paper trail to completely legitimize
their imported product. Of course, once all this work has been done there is
nothing to stop the Chinese company from dealing with many others, and since
the retail pricing on both these products is in the stratosphere, it will
likely plummet once the playing field is leveled. Naturally, there is also
nothing to stop India, Italy, and England's merchants from further reducing
prices, is there? So far, the only beneficiaries of this technical
innovation are a few greedy merchants; it is always so when they can
control a market. Competition will spoil their game, and help both the torch
manufacturers (who employ working men) and the craftsmen who use the end
products. These are my only concerns--not fat-cat middlemen.
Mikey

I'm familiar with the Petrogen, heard of it anyway. Not the oPetrol though.

Despite the recent discussion, I don't consider brazing welding and I can
braze with charcoal and a blow pipe.

I thought my All States oxy prop rig was kind of spendy but it's way cheaper

than one of these.

Think I'll hold onto my money for a bit.

Maybe for a forge burner though? <grin>
