I don't know what you have, but I can tell you that Monel tig welds very 
nicely. I had the opportunity to weld some 1/4" OD ss tube years ago, 
and had a small amount of Monel to weld also. I reacted very much like 
stainless steel...
Monel or Alloy 4000, is a nickel alloy containing 65-70 percent nickel, 
20-29 percent copper, and small amounts of iron, manganese, silicon and 
carbon
