Never heard of such a low number alloy in the chrome carbon series.  Anyone
hear of this? my last post was saying if it was a stainless series not the
chrome carbon option.

I wonder what 4316 would be used for if 4140 and 4340 are used as die
stock.....it wouldn't be a medium carbon/chrome alloy it would be a low
carbon one - anyone heard of samples of it's use?

Here's a chart I use...if that's the alloy, the book says says it's a
carbon alloy with nickel and chrome.  43xx = Ni 1.82; Cr 0.50, 0.80; Mo
0.25
