Harbor Freight used to sell a chinese copy.  I bought one years ago and 
it does fine with quarter inch plate.  Where it really shines ( vs the 
other options I have) is for expanded metal.  Beats plasma, oxygen 
etc.   It cost me $89 on sale about ten years ago.
