Figure out how much 1-1/4 plate x the length of the plate called for in the
plans, and have your 1-1/4 inch plate made that much wider.

I'm builing the standard size Kinyon, from the ABANA
plans.  The place I get my steel from doesn't have
1.5" plate for the base plate.  They do have 1.25"
plate.  
Would that be thick enough?
