The act of TIG welding SS is easy. Understanding the material is less so.  
Some of the SS alloys are given to cracking out at the edge of the HAZ (heat  
affected zone). The higher and 
l o n g e r the material is heated, the more serious the affects (HAZ)  are. 
So, if it's important that the material doesn't crack, either upon cooling  or 
even several months afterward, you need to do a little study (welding texts)  
to see if you are welding one of these particular alloys, and if so, read the 
 recommendations on how to go about it successfully.
