I meant to respond to this earlier.  I don't care for
the birchwood casey browning solution, it can come out
spotty.  Dixie Gunworks has a browning solution that I
think used to be marketed under a different name that
works much better and is more consistent.  You
basically get the barrel bright, plug it up, put this
stuff on, and put it in a humid box.  It rusts the
barrel consistently, and you oil it afterward.
