Back in 1990 I applied to do my PhD.  As I contemplated just how burned 
out I was after completing my MS, and that the Doctorate would not bring 
me a penny more in the way of cashola, and the fact that I'd learned all 
I wanted to learn of theoretical computing and AI, I came rapidly to my 
senses and bailed.
