    More or less in unison, children chorus, "Good moring, Teacher."

High schoool:

    Teacher comes into classroom and says, "Good morning, kids."

    Pimply-faced guy slouching in the back row snarls, "What's so good
    about it?"

College:

    Professor comes into the classtoom and says, "Good morning
    folks."

    Geeky guy in the front row says, "Pardon me, Professor, but what
    is the meaning of 'good'?"

Graduate school:

    Professor comes into the classroom and says, "Good morning, ladies
    and gentlemen."

    Silence.  Every head in the classroom bends over a notebook as
    every scholar carefully writes down, G-o-o-d m-o-r-n-i-n-g,
    l-a-d-i-e-s  a-n-d g-e-n-t...
