 I never figured on a big difference in the kaowool  or durablanket. I 
know there are different densities. even with different densities, they 
are all rated around 2300 F.  but loose  heat slower the denser( more 
dense) the material.  perhaps you got a denser durablanket than the 
kaowool. I got a freebe also I don't know  what I have. just that I 
can't quite get to weld heat. I do need the coating to stob the 
insulation from detiorating away and causing the hazzard of the 
particulates in the air.

I think that the main diff is not the blanket but what it is coated with...

I see a lot of guys that just run the blanket w/o painting it w/some
refractory and to me that is not only dangerous, but MUCH less efficient...
