Terry,
Most of the washer motors that I have worked on have a centrifugal start
switch. It engages the start windings and kicks out when the motor comes up
to speed. I have seen where the switch slipped on the shaft and no longer
made contact for starting.
With the belt off of the motor can you apply power and spin the shaft by
hand and get the motor to run?
