	Extreme, yes, but common as hell.  The "west" did this in every
	corner of the earth where they landed.  The USA even did it in Japan
	when Perry arrived with his white fleet.  Basically said they will
	open their doors to the west or suffer the consequences.  To us,
	the Japanese were savages that wore somewhat fancier clothing.

	Jesus god, don't get me started on alcoholics.  Having lived with
	one and been robbed by her to the tune of nearly a quarter million
	dollars, basically everything I had in the world, I find it hard
	to say anything nice there, so I will just not speak on this topic.
	But I will say that I know precisely what it is you're talking about.

	Agreed.  I have a lot "nicer" feelings about an honest thief than
	a do-gooder who's not honest with anyone, even himself, about his
	true motives.  I think most people prefer dealing with known
	quantities.
