Mark,
         You have to look at volume more than HP of the compressor. I am 
running a 6 HP compressor with a 26 gallon tank, that feeds into an 
auxiliary 100 gallon tank. Smaller compressors and air tanks will work, but 
you maybe taking a few breaks while the compressor is filling the tank up 
again.
