Not really.  What I was doing was pointing out to this forum a cheap,
readily available, low-tech coating for iron.  Properties yet untested.

I anticipate that hot-melt glue will be an excellent rust preventative,
but I have no data to support that.

It sounds like what you want is powder coat.  I've never used it but
it
looks like a plastic coating to me.
