[TheForge] ebay scam alert -- first hand experience

In this era of electronic wizardry it is easy to lose sight of the fact the people doing this are just like bandits hiding around a curve, waiting to pounce on innocent unsuspecting citizens coming by. A robber is a robber, whether he wears a kerchief over his face and rides a horse or whether he ambushes you doing legitimate business on an electronic highway.

The penalty should be the same as if they broke down your front door and made off with your furniture and valuables. What they are doing is premeditated and definitely has victims. Lock 'em up. In Texas they don't air condition the new prisons. Prisoners get to sweat for 6 months every year. Appropriate surroundings for criminals as I see it. Maybe when they get out they'll be more inclined to get a job rather than go commit crimes that will send them back to that environment.

But then again, I'm still chaffing from getting swindled out of $1,400 on eBay in January. The thief hit me and 89 others and moved to Brasil. No extradition treaties in Brasil. It is a safe haven for criminals.
