Yeah, I know. I've got 5 or 6 distributions around here. For a while I just 
swapped out the  plugable hard drive depending on whether I wanted to use 
windows or Red Hat or  Mandrake or SuSE.  My error was in planning to make 
the Windos XP system dual bootable, forgetting just how the drive had been 
formatted.
