Hmmm, sorry to hear that, I just installed the new mandrake distribution and 
it went as smoothly as any install I've ever done (done hundreds) YMMV-. But 
LINUX is not something you want to fool around with on your only computer if 
you need to use it every day. It is a great way to set up server with 
shelling out a grand to Microsoft and an excellent candidate for the desktop 
if you just wanna write stuff and get Internet access.  I've got Macs and 
windows computers around but I'm enjoying playing around with LINUX, if you 
don't  enjoy fooling around with computers then it's probably not for you 
YET, we'll see what the next couple of years bring. LINUX is still a dark 
horse but   it's been making big gains lately.
