The bubble wrap works but not as well as fiberglass. It works well as a
radiant barrier and as a moisture barrier but it is not very good as
insulation. The whole idea of most forms of house insulation is to
create a dead air space that actually provides the insulation. So when
you have 4 inches of dead air space from normal fiberglass insulation
vs 1/4" of dead air space in the bubble wrap the fiberglass will win.
if you need a radiant barrier as well as insulation you can buy foil
backed fiberglass .
