Are we a factory , or a one man shop?

I think I would rather 500 @ $6 ea.

Sure, it pays the bills, but 800...?
Your last sentence should include:
Make sure the price you get is enough to subcontract to other smiths, and
you still make money.You don't have the monotony, you
make money, and you don't burn up your eqpt.
