Hi Phlip,
I make my 3 inch dia out of 3/16 and my 1 inch dia out 1/8. No heat
for forming. I use a cold twisting jig before I bend it and then wrap it
around a pipe. Clip with bolt cutters and flatten the ends. The pin is
made from welded and sharpened coat hangers . If you make'em that way it
takes about 5-8 minutes per piece in lots of 20 at a time. I charge $15 for
the big ones and 10 for the small ones. You can see them on

The scroll you describe will take longer and use heating time also. If I
scroll em, I would charge at least 15-20 a piece. Remember even if the lady
wants to resell'em charge what it costs you. The only way you should
charge her less is if she is willing to make a big enough order to make a
production run worth it.
I did the same thing for tent stakes which I sell at Lillies (SCA) down
by Kansas city and WW in Wisconsin. I can make a candy cane style stakes
with a twist out of 1/2 square at 3 minutes per..... ($3.00 each)
.....However.... after making 800 over the course of 5 months without a
power hamer I don't want to see another tent stake as long as I live!!! It
got boring real fast. Make sure the boredom is worth the price you get for
production runs.
