At a demonstration by the Bader grinder manufacturing folk, they
recommended not wearing any gloves for most operations, but said that
the cotton string gloves offer just enough protection to keep from
skinning your knuckles, while being flimsy enough to just rip away
if they hit a belt. I've used them, and sure enough they keep the
little bumps from taking off skin. The only problem I have with
them is that, being cotton, they tend to catch fire if your hand
strays into the sparks from the steel.
