[TheForge] Rust Patina Finish

Grant,

Yes it was chlorine bleach, fierce oxidizer!

The faux finish is generally a combination of 3-4 colors in the neighborhood
of what you want. By mixing the flat and semigloss (alternately) you get a
certain depth that's appealing. Generally I paint the whole thing one color
and then take a crumpled rag, one color at a time and dab it on, go over the
whole thing with the different colors until it clicks.

Kevin: Chlorine bleach? That would certainly be a strong oxidizer.....Hmm.
I have used a commercial plum brown on a .50 Hawken kit I built..it works
well on most kit barrels. Was your faux rust finish a commercial
preparation/colorant?
