Ya know any one can make a ring roller, pretty cheap, you need a drill
press, and 2 pieces of 1/2" plate some pieces of 2" solid stock, and a place
to have the holes bored, 3/4" through the middle, some pieces of pipe and a
piece of flat bar for a handle as well as a few nuts and bots, the design is
very elementary look at any slip roll.................... S not rocket
science, I have several bench mount ones, we roll everything from flat
stock, to 3/8 round in. (I built several automated spring winders for
bazz-houston, soooooo it really is simple)....

About that weld; you're aiming to have it come out the same thickness as
the rest of the circle, so there's no adding or subtracting involved. You
cut it to the right length, upset, scarf, weld, hammer it out, and it comes
out perfect every time, no?

"Last question is the rule of thumb for final length of the stock in order
to
forge-weld the ring together."
