Thanks for those who set me straight on anvil construction (Gabriel and
Charles). Hummmm, so the hole(s) near and on the underside of anvils are
for holding them during construction with no later use? I assumed they
were for securing them to a surface so they didn't "walk" around as you
banged on them. Gads, it sure is fun having such a steep learning curve
- learn fast when everything is new :-) I have mine on a large oak stump
(stop giggling - THE ANVIL).  I put a bolt in the stump over which I set
the anvil to prevent it from moving around but I guess from everyone's
experience that is not necessary; their weight is enough?
