While we're onto confessions:
 Early on I made some tentstakes out rebar and I quenched'em....They shatterd 
when I hit em! I didn't understand why back then so I could be forgiven for not 
knowing about hardening, but now I should know better.....right?....At an SCA 
Event last summer, a lady asked why the fancy twisted fork was $15 while a 
simple (though shiny) fork was $50.  I explained that the $50 one was my stupid 
fork. I never sell it, but I always keep it around as a reminder.
    I was making some small carving chisels out of a fairly expensive piece of 
drill rod.  I put it down and proceeded to make some hotdog forks for an SCA 
event.  When I went back to making the chisels, I couldn't find the drill 
rod?!?  I had made one really hard (and expensive) hotdog fork!!  I keep it in 
the shop to remind me to alway mark my material!!  
   I keep a color code in my shop based on carbon content and all non-1018 gets 
marked with a color according to the chart the moment it comes in the shop!
