I am having a little trouble with alignment of my power hammer dies .I =
have a beaudry I believe it is a 100 lb hammer .not a problem aligning =
vertically or from front to back .but the space between the dies is a =
bit wedge shaped=20
everything curves off to the left when forged.
I have a combination die in the hammer and before grinding the top to =
make parallel I thought I would get some comments here.
I am wondering if my anvil is 180 degrees off there is a tool holder =
welded on the backside of the anvil (never used it but I think that's =
what it is) the reason I am concerned is that in order to make the dies =
line up front to back the wedges on the top die are in back of the =
dovetail and on the bottom are in front. is this right?
also what is the propose of the wood wedges I have tried to use them to =
push the anvil up to compensate for the un parallel dies but it seems to =
me that that could put a stress on the side of the base of the hammer =
that the anvil sits in I have seen them broken there and don't want to =
be one of those.when I use the hammer with no wood wedges the anvil=20
moves pretty much (it doesn't turn , it moves right to left)
thanks!=20
