[TheForge] Air Hammer Slides.....

I have contemplated several designs using cam follower bearings. I
tend to overdesign everything. The issues that I have encountered are:

a) It takes at least eight bearings with adjustments to do it. ( top
and bottom on each side, otherwise you will rock around the bearing).
Although I have considered bearings on just two sides.
b) Setting up the attachment for the bearings is not a simple affair,
allthough as said I over engineer , and have laid out automatic
tensioning with springs.
c) The bearings will have a lot less contact area than full contact
brass slides. This is good for reducing friction, but will wear tracks
in the slide more quickly.

The single cylinder will be a 7" Diameter by 18" extend with an exertion force of about 57 tons... Guaranteed to break the press I think.
