[TheForge] how to pound metal

All - I and my 11 year son are just starting to learn how to burn
ourselves on hot metal.  We have a small coal forge (hand crank) and
found where to buy coal so we are set up but would like to attend
workshops to jump-start this adventure. I have joined CBA (Calif.
blacksmith assoc.) but have not yet received any info..

We live just northeast of Los Angeles. Between Santa Clarita and Agua
Dulce for those who know the area. On the CBA WWW site a place in
Tujunga is listed for workshops, but when I called it is no longer
active.  I was told that another location was going to open up in LA -
at a museum or something??? Does anyone have any details on this, or any
suggestions on blacksmiths who might be willing to give us an
introductory lesson (or is it lesions) or two, who live fairly close.
