I've used the cold galvanizing stuff sold by Rust Oleum. Seems to work fine, though I haven't had the chance to find out over more than a year (and since the person who received the piece I did with it has since died, its even more questionable if I'll get any further feedback). Had to be painted with latex. No primer. Jerry V
