Ultra-High Molecular Density Polyethylene, IIRC. A little denser than the
translucent white stuff they use to make milk jugs.
Sometimes it's called Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene.
Plastic; tough, heavy, strong, relatively soft-surfaced plastic.
Used to use it for spacers in rebuilding old overhead crane gearboxes.
Stuff'll stand up to just about anything but heat.

I have a cheap, chinese version of one and love it too. Very handy tool.
