I would agree with you except that the question ultimately devolves to 
Traditional v. Contemporary as being "True Path", doesn't it? I mean, if 
someone says "No, something fabricated (despite there being forged 
elements) should not be placed on the cover of the Anvil's Ring", the 
question becomes "Why not?" Assuming that the piece is well done and a 
positive example of the technique, I believe that it should be prominently 
displayed and held up as a standard that we should strive for. Not because 
it is arc-welded or forge welded, but because it was done well. Now by that 
standard, I think that if I see a piece that looks like I did it (whether 
forge or arc welded) I'd have the editor strung up for malfeasance and 
demand my money back! :-)
