i think what started this discussion was the letter to the editor from dave mariette in the new anvils ring. his point wasn't so much "traditional" (whatever that is) v. contemporary but rather should a forged/fabricated (electric welded) project be on the cover of the anvils ring?

the traditional v. contemporary question can't be answered but the question of what should be on the cover of the anvils ring could.
