Forward Air www.forwardair.com quoted me ~$200 to ship a 600 pound air
compressor from Newark, NJ to Fort Worth, TX, terminal to terminal. If you
have terminals at both ends, its the least expensive carrier.
Another possibility is to check the ads on
http://www.ytmag.com/cgi-bin/haulquery.pl or to post one of your own. There
are always deadheading drivers looking for loads.
