[TheForge] Flagstaff Minutes are on ABANA site

Attributing a motion made to the wrong person in the minutes, and catching the
mistake is called a correction.
If the $25,000 figure was discussed, and the minutes state the figure as $250,
changing it to reflect $25,000 is called a correction.
Leaving the figure out completely is easily called editing.
Why should ABANA have to explain the numbers?
Perhaps because they have an obligation to the membership to do so?
Okay, some of the membership couldn't care less, so they need no explanation.
But some of the membership certainly wants to know.
I'm not a member yet, but I sure would like to know the facts.

Ted,
If the correspondence that George suggests was hidden from the board was in
fact the correspondence that was discussed by the board as shown in the
Flagstaff minutes, then it was not hidden. The board was informed of the
correspondence, of the President's prerogative not to send it on to the
board and it seems the board had their fill of this stuff because they
agreed with the president and did not want to see this. NOTHING HIDDEN! No
lies! ... just fed up!
Seems that the facts are clear. They are in the minutes and nobody owes any
more information.
You again imply that something is missing about the $25,000 yet you also
agree that the number seems to have originated with George. You suggest
that ABANA needs to explain the 25,000 savings vs 6,000 loss. These numbers
have been tossed out by George and I still don't know where he gets this
information.
George has tried to involve Lou with his "unedited" minutes post (which when
put in that context is another attempt to smear the board). I don't think
there is any such thing. I'm sure Lou had his own notes but those are not
the official minutes. I am also sure that Lou got a copy of the "Flagstaff
minutes" prior to the next board meeting, but until they are accepted by the
board, they are not official and any corrections made are CORRECTIONS - not
editing.
Why should ABANA have to explain the numbers- that ball is still in George's
lap?
And speaking personally, if the cost was $6,000 more .... for more pages,
... for more color, ... for on-time publications (something the same members
bitching now were bitching about prior to the change) ...and all done a year
later, then GREAT! The board saved us money and gave us a better product.
( This comment is not meant to reflect negatively on any of the previous
editors of the Ring or Blow. I appreciated their service then and thank
them for it. )
Walt
