Ummmm.....

   Chad,  there are some "VAST" social issues ingrained in what you
are proposing.  Unless Japan has had  a massive change of heart in
recent years, I'd be surprised if you could do this at all.  Again, I
may well be far, "behind times" in my thinking.
    I'd suggest you try to find someone, anyone who has successfully
done something similar, in any field and talk to them for a long time.
Japan is not the U.S.  they don't usually have the "come one come all"
mentality that has began to  drag this country down.  They understood
this long ago and haven't changed.
   My "daughter" has an aunt that is a missionary there, if you can't
find anyone else to discuss this with, she may be willing to provide
you with a "window" into what you are seeking.  Let me know.
