i am looking at building a propane forge using an old water heater tank ( innards )... what i'm thinking about doing is pouring the bottom of the forge with a castable refractory and than using koawool around the rest... my idea is this will keep the bottom of the forge more rigid and less likely to suffer from flux break down ... hummm ... what do ya think...???
