Hey Dan; Nice site, good quote!
Live with it. Even smooth it some with a grinder and use it.
The best jobs of anvil repair are not as good as new by far.
If the divot is in the face and was made by an errant hammer, you can work
it out to a degree
by hammering around it , working inwards in concentric circles with a
medium weight crowned polished hammer.
